These New Puritans < - Check these guys out. Many good feelings.
What a weekend, well no. Grand weekend. Met up with the lads at home, had a few drinks, sorted out some stuff for the coming weeks and a mate is up next weekend who I haven't seen a while, so drinkie drink next couple weekends. Should all be good.
Got to go out some more. There is a shed load of good bands playing around dublin to be seen, but lately I just haven't gone to anything. Have to remedy that. Going to see MGMT in a few weekends, which will be good. Looking forward to that, apart from the fact it is on in the academy which used to be spirit. I am less impressed by that.

Scooby doo
Interesting character. Using my work laptop at home, let my family use it last night now its buggered. What the hell like? How destructive can people be in such a short space of time.
This is one hell of an interesting story about 600 miles of boggy road in Russia.
Ireland V Scotland in the 6 nations today, I know that for this to be a good 6 nations of us (Ireland) we need the coach to get the sack, so I'll be supporting and shouting for our guys today but if we lose O'Sullivan will more than likely get the sack at the end of the championship and that can only be a good thing.

Stir it up
Fiona Apple always a good way to kick off an evening. Its thursday. Nothing to do tonight and I believe its getting the better of me. Gone are the days when I would dive into a new coding language or mini personal project and get immense personnel satisfaction out of it.
How have things become so very very boring. In all fairness I do already spend most of my day digging around blogs looking for some tweak to make something work, its essentially my job. Today I pondered hooking a php project I'm working on, up to our ldap to authenticate users. I can hear you gasp at the adventure I am indeed having coding this up..
Not too long ago I would have gladly sat at my computer and googled and coded and read pointless endless threads on how people have achieved the very end I was trying to get at. Now though, since I get paid for it. I can find the interest when I get home in the evenings, so the ugly head of boredom has started looming over me. By god its an ugly lad.
Exposed to the fact that indeed I do not know that many people, so random adventures in reality are at this point in time an everest like task. I've signed up to some volunteer web site and hope that will find me an evening outlet, but then I wondering how much time could I commit, you see I start my day to be in the office for 8 and on a good day leave at 5, battle traffic and arrive home around 6. Its nearly a 12 hour day when traveling is included.
Solutions
However temporary solution is at hand, tomorrow I cross the void into Cork and will be among family and friends for a few days, where plans will be formed and words said in the moment that minutes later will be regret and eventually forgotten. Mighty.

Solutions
- Move closer to work
- Work somewhere else
- Give up on any chance of doing stuff in the evening and relax with the knowledge that one day things will be different

Wth the Great wet weight of the world behind me
Its good to be finished work. I'm sitting down, obviously in front of my computer listening to New Pornographers, sipping my 2 ltr bottle of coke, looking back on what was at its working end an eventful day.
I don't get this work business I'm pretty sure must days out of the year I'm fairly pissed leaving the building. But today I worked late, because I some work to do on some machines in your remote offices and I found it well very interesting. I joined the company I worked for as graduate a year ago. Now I'm pretty much front line linux man on our desktop team. Its a job, I'm mad about to be honest. Although a lot of the time I feel very marginalized by the fact that I'm 6 years younger than everyone else I work with and by extension the youngest in the whole of our global IT team. So I guess its a double edged thing, lucky to be where I am but damn it I'd like to work with people I can talk to.
Enough of this work business. Tonight I'm going to town for a couple pints, which I do, I must confess, enjoy more than a really good metaphor. But shock and aghast today when informed that my beverage of choice is to go up 15 cents, those bapstards! However on a quick search of google news, the rumours might well be false. I remember a day when you could buy a load of pints for ten pounds. Those where the days.

Tappa Tappa
Just back from another day of coding and fixing stuff. Life is good that way. Ah yes, now just to relax for the evening with my 2ltr bottle of coke and 100% extra box of jaffa cakes, what more, what more I say could a man ask for.
No much I tell you now truthfully.
I think I'll watch a movie and listen to some music, then sleep and do the same thing over again tomorrow.
Wait a sec, what the hell! I'm 25. Something is a miss.
Hmm maybe I'll go for a walk, head that way! A different way to the usual round about way I usually take when I want to convince myself I'm getting excursive by walking at a comfortable place.
Was chatting to my friend today, my friend who up sticks and moved to Barcelona on his own, without a word of Spanish and a limited amount of savings. I hate that guy, he is doing well for himself now, going out living the dream, whatever that might be. Invitation on the table to visit. If it wasn't for that damn 800 euro that I must spend on an exam next month I'd be off. Confound it I say!

Should we chance our arms?
Well I need my arms, so no. Baby fingers maybe. Dislocated my left one on Saturday. Haven't been in a hospital for my own needs in about 12 years, so this was an unwelcome but interesting occurrence. Needless to say I was doing something stupid like playing rugby, which was exactly what I was doing as it happens. When some large man decided to run at what now, in looking back was a perilous speed at my baby finger. Pop the bit that a nail is on, right out of the socket and perched it on aforementioned socket. So the x-ray lead me to believe anyway. 8 hours in a+e later, me, my splinted hand and girlfriend left to seek out pizza and garlic bread. Oh happy days.
That was my Saturday folks. Oh we won the game so no harm done. Still in a splint and got to see a bone specialist guy next week to see if its healed out. Right now, it is damn weird to be typing without a left baby finger, since that is my press the shift button finger.
Guh.. fingers so brittle, suppose it doesn't help that for many years of my life I played hurling, where the old rap on the knuckles wasn't a once in the blue moon sort of a thing. But there you go and life goes on.. as I uncomfortably reach of the right handed shift key. God doesn't love me you know!

Zwanado
Evening, well I thought I'd give blogging another go. This comes at a time in my life when I'm pretty bored, living in Dublin, knowing few people. So I thought I'd reach out and engage.
How is everyone this evening?
You know I gave blogging ago a while back, but I made the terrible mistake of thinking this was some kind of amateur journalism lark, that would net me a nice sum with google ads. So this time, I think that I won't think about what I'm going to write about and just spill my thought on to this page.
Today is a good day, for one of one thing, I am now debt free. After making the error of using my credit card like a free cash money dispenser in the latter parts of last year, I had 2 grand to pay and finally after giving up a lot of stuff, I am free again, well for another few months :)
Its weird I've been sending every spare penny I have into paying this off over the last couple months so now again after 4/5 months of cutting it tight I have a disposable income again. Great. Nothing to spend it on, because I've kind of realized I don't need that much, food smokes and fuel. Well booze as well. But thats it. So I've decided to start making plans to travel by the end of this year.
The basic plan right now, head down to South Africa for the lions tour next year, then north east towards dubai to visit friends, then east across to India, then down to China and island hope to Australia. Finally over to South America and up the States to see more friends before returning to Ireland. I dunno but thats my vague outline of a plan.
